Tamilavel Thiru.P.T.Rajan
Sir Ponnambala Thiaga Rajan (12 April 1892 – 25 September 1974) was the Chief Minister of Madras Presidency from April 4, 1936, to August 24, 1936. He was also the last President of the Justice Party. P. T. Rajan was born in Uthamapalayam and educated at The Leys School, Cambridge and Jesus College, Oxford. He graduated in history and law and practiced as an advocate for some time before joining the Justice Party. Rajan was elected to the Madras Legislative Council as a Justice Party candidate in 1920 and served as a legislator till his defeat in 1937. He held various offices such as the Minister of Public Works and then, the Chief Minister of Madras Presidency. From 1939 to 1944, Rajan supported Periyar but broke off and headed the rebel Justice Party till 1957. Rajan was elected to the Madras Legislative Assembly in 1952 and served as a legislator from 1952 to 1957. Rajan died in 1974 at the age of 82.
P.T.R.Palanivel Rajan
Ponnambala Thyaga Rajan Palanivel Rajan (27 February 1932 – 20 May 2006) was an Indian politician. He graduated in Political Science from the prestigious Madras Christian College and then studied Law at Madras Law College and was a practicing lawyer before entering politics in 1968 when he joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He has served as the Speaker of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 2001. He also was the Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments in the Government of Tamil Nadu briefly before his death on May 20, 2006 at the age of 74. He was also an MLC twice. His family was instrumental in the reconstruction of the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple after a fire destroyed it over a century ago. Madurai Kamaraj University conferred the Doctor of Law on him (Honoris Causa) in 1997.
Thiru.P.T.R.Palanivel Thiagarajan
Thiru.P.T.R.Palanivel Thiagarajan is son of late P.T.R.Palanivel Rajan, an Indian Politician. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious National Institute Of Technology, Trichy and then studied MS, Operations Research and Ph.D., Human Factors Engineering / Engineering Psychology at State University Of New york, Buffalo. He then completed his Master Of Business Administration in Financial Management at MIT Sloan School Of Management. He began his career in 1990 as an Independent Consultant in Operations and Systems Improvement. He then joined Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in the year 2001 as Trader & Co-Portfolio Manager - Firm Relationship Loan Portfolio. He quit Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. as Head Of Offshore Capital Markets in the year 2008. He then worked for Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore in the Global Capital Markets division. He quite Standard Chartered Bank as Managing Director, FM Sales in the year 2014.
